Solar Roof Vents

Heat
rises. Attics trap that heat. Cooling an attic reduces the energy expended
cooling the house in the warm months. Hot unventilated attics can cost
thousands of dollars a year in extra energy costs.
Solar roof vents can reduce the temperature by up to thirty degrees.
One fan can move eight hundred cubic feet of air per minute. Measure
the attic and purchase the number of fans accordingly. Typically these
solar powered fans run about one hundred seventy-five dollars.
Solar roof vents are relatively easy to install because no wiring is
required. A hole must be cut to install the vent. The system can be
set on a timer that runs during daylight hours and shuts off when the
energy from the sun is no longer available. Some may even use thermostats
that regulate the temperature.
